Playing Time:

 4 Min

Age:

 7+

Untested

Game Designer:

Description:

This is an amazing fast paced game where a group of desperate defenders are attempting to protect the Alamo from an overwhelming attacking army. During the game the defenders will be placed in a well-fortified bunker and will attempt to stop the attackers from placing flags in the bins next to the Alamo. The attackers will be diving, sliding and doing all manner of shenanigans to place the flags. An excellent example of an attack and defend game mode this one always goes over well.

Quick Reference Rules:

  1. Infinite lives. Defender respawn is 3 seconds. Attackers respawn is 5 seconds.

  2. There is a 12ft (4m) safe zone around the Alamo where players can’t shoot at each other.

  3. Defenders can’t leave the Alamo. Attackers are not allowed in the Alamo

  4. If an attacker gets tagged while holding a flag they drop it.

  5. Attackers can only carry one flag at a time.

  6. When leaving the safe zone attackers cannot shoot their blaster until they reach a bunker.

  7. Game ends when the timer goes off or 25 flags are placed

Detailed Rules

What does the safe zone mean?

When an attacker enters the safe zone the defenders are no longer allowed to shoot at them but the attacker isn’t allowed to shoot the defenders either. This is really just a safety precaution so people don’t get unloaded on at point blank.

Can defenders remove flags from the Alamo?

No. The defenders are not allowed to touch the flags.

Can I throw or hand off flags?

No. You can drop it on the ground if you really don’t want to carry it.

Can a defender shoot an attacker as soon as they leave the safe zone?

Yes. While the attackers must wait until they reach a bunker to shoot their blaster, there are no restrictions on the defenders. This makes it so attackers can’t just step out of the safe zone for a second in order to shoot a defender then step back into the safe zone.

Can an attacker act as a human shield while standing in the safe zone?

No. Attackers are not allowed to purposefully block the defenders when they are in the safe zone.

What do you do if someone tags someone when either they or the person they tagged were in the safe zone?

The polite thing to do would be to apologize. If you are tagged while standing in the safe zone nothing happens and you do not need to respawn. Additionally if you tag someone while standing in the safe zone they do not need to respawn.

If we place the attacker respawn close to the Alamo, can we shoot into and out of the respawn?

No. The attackers will need to leave the respawn in order to shoot and the defenders will need to wait until they do so.

Other General Rules

  • Be respectful. It’s only a game.

  • Use common sense

  • Before touching someone's gear ask for permission

  • Everyone should have eye protection

  • Don't move bunkers

  • Ricochets don't count

  • Players shouldn't discuss what's going on if they haven't spawned back in.

Victory Condition:

The attackers win if they are able to place 25 or more flags in the bin(s) next to the Alamo before the timer goes off, otherwise the defenders win.

Supplies Needed:

  • 1 high capacity blaster per defender

Basic Supplies

  • Foam Blasters (e.g. Nerf)

  • Extra Ammo

  • Bunkers (e.g. cardboard)

  • Copy of Rules

  • Team Indicators (Optional)

Setup Required:

  • Build a bunker with lots of cover in the center of the field, this is the Alamo.

  • Mark off a safe zone of about 12ft (4m) around the Alamo. Use cones or something similar.

  • Place a bin or bins just on the outside of the Alamo.

  • Designate an attacker respawn. It can be fun to actually place this close to the Alamo so that the attackers have to work to get out of their respawn. I usually have a small gap that the attackers need to get through that the defenders have a good line of sight on.

  • Spread the 30 flags throughout the field.

  • There should be 1 defender for every 3 to 4 attackers.

  • Give each of the defenders a high capacity blaster and plenty of ammo.

  • (Optional) attackers only get pistols

  • Set a 4 minute timer

About Me

I only recently made the switch to being a Nerf/ Foam enthusiast back in 2018. Rather than modding Nerf blasters, I found my real passion was in the creation of game modes.
