Nerf War Rules For

Titanball

Player Count:

6+

Playing Time:

10-30 min

Age:

 7+

Untested

Game Designer:

Captain Xavier

Description:

Titanball is the official game mode of the Auxiliary and as the good Captain says “it is basically soccer but instead of kicking a ball around you fire a bazooka and all the players get guns. Which makes it much more exciting.” During the game players attempt to launch rockets into the other teams goal. This is accomplished by taking control of the rockets and rocket launchers that have been spread across the field at the beginning of the game. Please note that this document is meant as a resource and that clubs can adjust the rules to meet their needs.

Quick Reference Rules:

  1. You must have a rocket launcher in order to carry a rocket

  2. You can only carry one rocket for every rocket launcher you are carrying

  3. If you get tagged while carrying a rocket launcher and/or rocket then you must drop them immediately

  4. Rockets must be launched into the goal area

  5. Infinite respawns. 10 second respawn count. (Adjust as needed)

  6. Game ends when one team scores 3 goals

Detailed Rules

Do I have to use titan rockets in order to play Titanball?

No. While titan rockets may make it more fun you can use any kind of rocket/ firerable projectile you want.

Can I carry a rocket without it being loaded on a launcher?

In general you should try and load it as soon as possible; however it is acceptable to seek cover first.

What happens if a rocket bounces in or out of the goal?

In general, the rocket has to be inside the goal area to count, so if it bounces out it doesn’t count. If it bounces in it does count. For target type goals, it just has to hit it, whether that is direct or off a ricochet. You can also just ignore this advice and decide what your club prefers.

Can a rocket be reused after it has scored a goal?

Depends. If you are able to field at least 9 rockets then the suggestion is no. For games where you can’t field at least 9 rockets it can be beneficial to reuse rockets. You generally want to have more rockets than there are rocket launchers.

Can a rocket be reused that didn’t score a goal?

Yes

What do you do about people who have blasters with the ability to launch the rockets?

There are various ways to handle this. It’s recommended that you just ask them to not use that blaster or at least not use that function of the blaster. The scarcity of the rocket launchers is a big mechanism of the game and you don’t want to break it. Another option is to require them to drop their blaster when they get tagged so other players can use it. Yet again just decide what works best for your group and go with that.

Can I stock pile rockets and rocket launchers?

Yes. For launchers they can be placed on the ground at any time whether loaded or not. Rockets on the other hand should be fired into the area where you are stock piling.
