Description:

This game mode is a great warmup or filler game for when you have only a few people and are waiting for others to arrive. One of the reasons is that people are easily added to teams. Essentially this is just team deathmatch but with an interesting twist on how players respawn and how teams are created. In this game mode the people on your team are constantly changing along with the number of teams that you are facing.

Quick Reference Rules:

  1. Infinite lives.

  2. When a player is tagged they return to the respawn to become part of a new team. There should be at least a 20 second gap between each team's respawn.

  3. Every team is against every other team.

  4. Game ends when the timer goes off.

Detailed Rules

Here is an example of a 6 player game.

Player 1, 2, and 3 form one team and players 4, 5, and 6 form another. Player 1 tags player 5 and then Player 4 tags players 2 and 3.  Players 2, 3 and 5 go to the respawn and form a new team. At this point there are three teams, team A with player 1, team B with players 4 and 6, and finally team C which is new and has players 2, 3 and 5. All three of these teams are competing against each other. The game continues and new teams are made as players get tagged out.

Why is there a 20 second gap between team respawns?

This just provides sufficient time for teams to move into the field before worrying about a new team coming in behind them. You can also have a moderator handle the timing of when to release people into the field.

How many players should be on a team?

This depends on how many players you have playing. For smaller groups 2 or 3 man teams is good but you can make larger teams if you have a lot of people.

How do you pick teams if there are more players coming out then you would normally put on a team?

It should essentially be “first come first served” or in other words those who get to the respawn first should become the next team. Players should not wait around for a particular person to join their team but instead just go with whoever is available.
