Description:

This is a variant of Domination that incorporates a target mechanism in addition to area control. In this game teams are attempting to control the majority of control points on the field. However, in order to take control of a point they must shoot a target to make it switch to their teams color.

Quick Reference Rules:

  1. A player takes control of a point by shooting the target to switch the indicator to their team's colors.

  2. Targets can only be shot

  3. Infinite lives. 10 second respawn

  4. Game ends when the timer goes off

What if I accidentally shoot the target after getting shot?

Set the target you shot back to the color that it was at before you hit it.

Group-Specific Rules

Decide On...

  • who has the final say on a disagreement about someone getting hit.

  • rules for jumping over or climbing on bunkers

  • what types of ammo are allowed

  • a dart velocity limit (I like 120 fps)

  • whether blaster hits and friendly fire count

  • rules for shields and melee weapons

  • what signifies that a player has respawned

Other General Rules

  • Be respectful. It’s only a game.

  • Use common sense

  • Before touching someone's gear ask for permission

  • Everyone should have eye protection

  • Don't move bunkers

  • Ricochets don't count

  • Players shouldn't discuss what's going on if they haven't spawned back in.

Victory Condition:

The team that controls the majority of the control points (targets) when the timer goes off wins.

Supplies Needed:

  • 3 or more targets that can switch colors to indicate which team is in control (there should always be an odd number)

Targets can be something like the Nerf Rival Saturn target that has been painted to alternate team colors or as complex as an Arduino controlled device.

Basic Supplies

  • Foam Blasters (e.g. Nerf)

  • Extra Ammo

  • Bunkers (e.g. cardboard)

  • Copy of Rules

  • Team Indicators (Optional)

Setup Required:

  • Place the targets such that neither team has an unfair advantage. The targets should not be too close together.

  • The team respawns should not be too close to the targets.

  • Set a 7 minute timer
