Description:

I developed this game mode having never played Team Fortress 2 (TF2), but in my search for new game modes I found it was essentially the same thing (just goes to show it’s hard to be original). This is a great game mode that feels like a racing game where your team is attempting to hit all the checkpoints on the track. Each team has 4 flags that they need to pick up and deliver to the center of the field, however in order to pick up a flag a team must first transport a storage bin to the flag's location. Additionally 3 out of the 4 flags that the teams are attempting to pick up are located right next to an enemy flag thus causing the teams to clash continually.

Quick Reference Rules:

  1. Infinite lives. 10 second respawn.

  2. The team’s storage bin cannot be picked up off the ground.

  3. The team’s storage bin must be next to the flag before the flag can be picked up.

  4. Game ends when one team has delivered all of their flags.

  5. Variant: Game ends after a set period of time.

Detailed Rules

Is there a specific order that I need to pick up the flags?

No, although if you want it to be more like TF2 then you can add that as a rule.

Can I have multiple flags in the storage bin at the same time?

Yes. You can pick up all the flags before delivering them to the center bin or you can deliver them to the center bin as you go.

Can you move the other team’s storage bin?

No. The only exception is if it is in a tight space and you need to move it to get past.

Can you take enemy flags?

No. You cannot pick the enemy flags up off the ground or out of their storage bin.

How do you move your team’s storage bin?

You can either pull or push it along the ground. You can even push it ahead of you like mobile cover. You don’t even need to be in contact with it when it’s moving (i.e. you can give it a big shove and just let it move forward on its own although the flags might spill out so you would need to collect them again.

What if I get tagged while moving the storage bin?

Leave it where it is. One of your teammates can start where you left off.

What if I get tagged while holding a flag?

Then you should drop it on the ground (i.e. not in the storage bin).

Can you throw flags?

No. The storage bin needs to be right next to the flag to pick it up, so throwing is unnecessary.

Can I grab flags and bring them to the storage bin?

No. You must transport the storage bin to the flag before you can pick up the flag.

Group-Specific Rules

Decide On...

  • who has the final say on a disagreement about someone getting hit.

  • rules for jumping over or climbing on bunkers

  • what types of ammo are allowed

  • a dart velocity limit (I like 120 fps)

  • whether blaster hits and friendly fire count

  • rules for shields and melee weapons

  • what signifies that a player has respawned

Other General Rules

  • Be respectful. It’s only a game.

  • Use common sense

  • Before touching someone's gear ask for permission

  • Everyone should have eye protection

  • Don't move bunkers

  • Ricochets don't count

  • Players shouldn't discuss what's going on if they haven't spawned back in.

Victory Condition:

The first team to deliver all of their flags to the bin in the center wins.

Variant: The winning team is the one that has placed the most flags in the center bin when the timer goes off or has placed all of their flags in the center bin. In case of a tie the team that has the most flags in their storage bin wins.

Supplies Needed:

  • 4 red and 4 blue flags

  • 2 large storage bins

  • 1 small bin

About Me

I only recently made the switch to being a Nerf/ Foam enthusiast back in 2018. Rather than modding Nerf blasters, I found my real passion was in the creation of game modes.
